From Infinite Feeds to a Private Knowledge Garden

A feed is designed around what comes next. Even when one post matters, the interface immediately offers another, then another. Its memory is chronological and disposable: useful for movement, but poor at preserving the shape of our own interests.

A private knowledge garden begins with a different decision. We choose a source, preserve what it actually said, and let it remain available after the feed has moved on. The collection is not another queue demanding completion; it is a place we can return to when a question makes the material relevant again.

AI-generated wiki links help the garden develop without pretending to think on our behalf. A recurring concept can open notes collected months apart, while backlinks show the passages in which that concept appeared. New material can meet what is already there instead of becoming another isolated file.

The connection is an invitation, not an interpretation. Active reading begins when we follow that path, question a paragraph, add a Think or Question callout, or revise the language of a note. The system can reveal proximity; understanding still belongs to the reader.

This is how an infinite feed becomes a finite, personal body of knowledge. Attention chooses the sources. Connections create paths between them. Our own questions and edits give those paths meaning. The garden grows slowly, but it grows in our direction.
